The Healing Time

Finally on my way to yes
I bump into
all the places
where I said no
to my life
all the untended wounds
the red and purple scars
those hieroglyphs of pain
carved into my skin,
my bones,
those coded messages
that send me down
the wrong street
again and again
where I find them
the old wounds
the old misdirections
and I lift them
one by one
close to my heart
and I say
holy holy holy

The woodpecker might have to go!

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah’s Ark :
One : Don’t miss the boat.
Two : Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three : Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four : Stay fit. When you’re 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five : Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six : Build your future on high ground.
Seven : For safety sake, travel in pairs.
Eight : Speed isn’t always an advantage. The snails were on board with t he cheetahs.
Nine : When you’re stressed, float a while.
Ten : Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting.

Be You

You were born to be real, not to be perfect. You are here to be you, not to live someone else’s life.

Every day you make some progress and every day you make a few mistakes. Through it all, your wisdom continues to grow and your experience continues to broaden.

Be gentle with yourself. Accept who you are, where you have been, and what you have to work with, for in this moment you can make positive use of it all.

Reach in and touch the purpose that makes you feel most alive. The world around you is filled with places where that purpose can do great things.

It is never too late to offer your unique and genuine gifts to life. Now is the time to do great things, even in the smallest of ways.

Choose to fully and graciously live life as it comes. The richest rewards by far are the ones to which you most sincerely give of yourself.

Ralph Marston

Pause

The right word may be effective,
but no word was ever as effective
as a rightly timed pause.”
–Mark Twain

He’s crazy about you!

If God had a refrigerator; your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning…face it, He’s crazy about you!

God did not promise days without pain,

Laughter without sorrow,

or sun without rain.

He did promise strength for the day, Comfort for the tears,

And light for the way.

Courage

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.
“Martin Luther King, Jr.

Deep in the centre of my being…

there is an infinite well of love. I now allow this love to flow to the surface.

It fills my heart, my body, my mind, my consciousness, my very being, and radiates out from me in all directions and returns to me multiplied.

The more love I use and give, the more I have to give, the supply is endless.

The use of love makes ME FEEL GOOD, it is an expression of my inner joy.

I love myself; therefore, I take loving care of my body.

I lovingly feed it nourishing foods and beverages, I lovingly groom it and dress it and my body lovingly responds to me with vibrant health and energy.

I love myself; therefore, I provide for myself a comfortable home, one that fills all my needs and is a pleasure to be in.

I fill the rooms with the vibration of love so that all who enter, myself included, will feel this love and be nourished by it.

I love myself; therefore, I work at a job that I truly enjoy doing one that uses my creative talents and abilities, working with and for people that I love and that love me, and earning a good income.

I love myself; therefore, I behave and think in a loving way to all people, for I know that that which I give out returns to me multiplied;

I only attract loving loving people in my world, for they are a mirror of what I am.

I love myself; therefore, I forgive and totally release the past and all past experiences and I am free.

I love myself; therefore, I live totally in the now. experiencing each moment as good and knowing that my future is bright and joyous and secure, for I am a beloved child of the universe and the universe lovingly takes care of me now and forever more. And, so it is.

Paradox

It does not take much strength to do things, but it requires a great deal of strength to decide what to do.

Elbert Hubbard

Motivating other….

As part of a panel interview, I was looking for a candidate that would motivate us as a panel, knowing that this would also motivate his or her team. Sitting, I started thinking what would the drivers be that is needed to motivate other, and the following thoughts crossed my mind:

  • To lead by example : To personally know where you are going people will be interested to listen.
  • People are more interested in how much you care than how much you know. Having compation with other.
  • Support and encourage other, be the cheerleader. It’s about them.
  • To be able to be inspired by other, your own source of energy. Read, one of my mentors once said all people that do not read are also illiterate.
  • Share your experience, by being a mentor, not through arrogance.
  • One can never build trust without being vulnerable.
  • Proud fullness is build through war stories, so tell those stories.
  • Communicate informal, formal, in the hallways, as much as you can, and remember listening is the most important part of communication.
  • People love to be challenged, as they the know you believe in them.

Enjoy your week.

Jim Stovall writes in his book Today’s the day, that to be the BEST at whatever you do you need to adhere to the following principals:

Balance – To be able to live a life that it is balanced in all domains of live, work, family, finance, wellness etc.

Enthusiasm – To live life with passion, if you do not have it change your thinking (attitude) or your career.

Single-mindedness – The ability to focus one thing at a time. When you work you work, when you play you play.

Tenacity – The ability to bite the bullet and to keep on going. Churchill said: “Never give in, never give in, never give in…”
